[Review] Shu Uemura Skin:FIT Cosmetic Water Foundation | Perfect for Summer

It's summer time! Yay for beach, bikini and hot sunny but summer can be hard on skin. What we look for perfect complexion in this summer is a weightless, fresh, summer-proof and if skincare benefits added into a foundation would be perfect!

This summer, Shu Uemura has came off with a new foundation that consists all above for beating the heat. Introducing the new Shu Uemura Skin:FIT Cosmetic Water Foundation that gives a natural bare look that keep your complexion lasts for 12 hours while giving a lightweight fit and breathable coverage.

Shu Uemura Skin:FIT Cosmetic Water Foundation is a new bi-phase foundation that is completely oil-free. It comes with a special developed dual-sided Pentagon Brushing Sponge; a brush side (pinkish) and a sponge side (white) to apply and tap for fitting the foundation to the skin.

Shu Uemura Skin:FIT Cosmetic Water Foundation comes with 12 different shades from light to dark with yellow or pink undertone selection that specialist formulated for Asian women to archive flawless yet bare-skin natural complexion. It also contains SPF 30 PA+++ to prevent the sunny weather.

Shu Uemura Skin:FIT Cosmetic Water Foundation was inspired by the traditional water foundation called 'Mizu Oshiroi' where originated from Japanese Edo period and still used among Maiko (geisha apprentice) in Japan. In addition, Pentagon Brushing Sponge (included in the set) was also adapted by the actual Mizu Oshiroi application, combining brush and sponge effect in one tool.

To apply, gives the bottle a good shake to distribute the contents evenly. Then pour few drops into the palm and using the Pentagon Brushing Sponge starting with brush side (pink) to gently apply the foundation. After that, turn to sponge side (white) and tap from moving outwards in a spiral motion to fit the foundation.

Apply in section and work faster because this foundation set pretty fast. For dry skin, well moisturize the skin before apply. This foundation will turns patchy in dry area. It gives a beautiful soft matte finish.

Shu Uemura Skin:FIT Cosmetic Water Foundation has the most unique and interesting texture I ever tried. It is basically just like a water and then turns to powder when spread off. It gives a soft matte look and powder finish so it is okay without loose / compact powder to set them in place. The texture really lightweight. I feel nothing when apply this foundation. Love it!

My shade of this foundation is 764 medium light beige which is a yellow undertone base. It just slightly fairer than my original skintone but this is the shade I prefer since it might oxidize after few hours. :) Personally, I recommend this foundation for combination to oily skin people because this foundation easily get patchy on dry area like my nose and mouth. Two ways to prevent it; well moisturize the face or using primer before foundation on. For pores problem, is recommend better using silicone base primer before using this foundation.

Shu Uemura Skin:FIT Cosmetic Water Foundation gives sheer to light medium coverage. It's not completely cover the imperfection but blur out (out of focus). I only apply one layer to create a healthy natural complexion and another layer for my under eyes and areas that need more coverage. The finishing is looking very natural and perfect for those who prefer no makeup makeup look. It does not turns cakey even after layers with loose powder, blush, highlight & contour blush.

This foundation is long lasting (12 hours), humidity-proof, sweat-proof, smudge-proof and water resistant; perfect for summer and beach time. For oil control, my face start getting tad-oily on my T-zone area after 4 hours especially at humid afternoon. Normally I don't like to touch up my makeup so I'm just using tissue to bloat out the excess sebum and it will matte my face till the night.
